Do you feel like people don’t take your problems seriously just because you’re young? They talk down to you or believe you don’t have it “as hard” as they do?

I believe that all young people deserve respect and can absolutely go through hard times. Being a teenager or young adult can be really hard and sometimes overwhelming. I will provide you the nonjudgmental listening and support that you have been looking for. We can explore why you are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, sad, etc. Then we will work together to come up with ways to cope with and manage these feelings.

My treatment style is motivational, solution-focused, and restorative. I will never solve your problems for you or tell you what to do, but I will empower you to build the skills to face anything. We can work together on any issues, but some examples of my treatment experience include suicidal thoughts, self-harm, disordered eating, anxiety, depression, and/or explosive anger.

While being truly seen and heard is one of the most beautiful aspects of good therapy, I’m sure you also want help with relieving stress and dealing with painful problems - the kind that can play with emotions and make you doubt yourself.

Combining insight-oriented therapy and practical strategies can bring about really positive change. I draw from many schools of thought, yet I most align with cognitive behavioral and insight-oriented therapy. Drawing on your strengths, we can explore new ways to look at difficult situations, which can bring about positive feelings, actions and results. You’ll find that while I won’t give you answers, together, we will find options and possibilities to choose from.

One of my favorite practical techniques for reducing stress and getting good outcomes are brain-based neuroscience techniques that help people quickly switch from the brain pathway that holds negative emotions to the pathway that holds positive emotions and possibilities. People often find that, with consistent practice, they develop the ability to determine what kind of day they are going to have, regardless of circumstances.

While I work with a variety of clients, two groups I have worked with the most are young adults and middle-aged women. Being a young adult has many stresses and at the same time, is a good place to start to create a beautiful life. Middle aged women tend to carry a lot of people and pressure on their shoulders. When they take care of themselves in a powerful way, they can experience the peace and joy they’ve been wanting for so long.

I work with individuals, couples and families. My style is warm and empowering, with a bit of humor mixed in. It’s important to be able to relax,be yourself and talk freely with your therapist.

The issues I specialize in are: Reducing Stress/Anxiety, Improving Relationships, Career Issues, Creating Purposeful work/ life paths (including meaningful retirement),

    Accepting clients starting in October!

Hello, I'm Katherine Stillerman-Rose, and I’m dedicated to guiding individuals and couples through the challenges of life. Life can be incredibly hard, and I'm here to support you on your journey of introspection and healing. My therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, compassion, and the unwavering belief in your inherent capacity for growth and transformation.

I specialize in helping clients navigate, become curious about, and understand the complexities of their emotional lives, offering a safe and judgment-free space to process and make sense of their pain and struggles. We'll explore the lasting effects of childhood dynamics, trauma, and the harsh realities of life that often leave us feeling trapped in repetitive patterns, hindering our personal growth and well-being. By gaining insight and understanding, we can break free from the cycles that are within our control, develop new ways of relating to ourselves and others, and cultivate a healthier and more fulfilling life.

In our collaborative therapeutic partnership, your voice takes precedence, and your goals become the focal point of our treatment. Together, we will work towards nurturing insight, self-compassion, and the essential tools needed for lasting personal change.

My therapeutic toolbox encompasses various modalities, ensuring that we utilize the most effective methods and strategies tailored to your unique needs and circumstances.

In addition to individual therapy, I have a deep passion for couples therapy. My specialization lies in helping couples learn how to navigate conflicts effectively and how to "rupture and repair" to strengthen their bond. My approach is founded on the belief that our early experiences significantly shape our adult relationships. Unresolved childhood dynamics can play out in our partnerships, leading to patterns that hinder growth and intimacy. I'm here to help you identify and heal these patterns, fostering a healthier, more fulfilling connection with your partner.

I understand that embarking on this journey requires immense courage and effort, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you navigate life's challenges.

I believe that the key to success in therapy is creating a safe and supportive environment, and taking a non judgemental approach to the work that I do. My style is collaborative and eclectic - meaning that each individual’s treatment is tailored to who they are and what their goals reflect. I view the therapist and participant relationship as a partnership, meaning that my role is not to tell you what to do, but rather support you in identifying what you feel is best. Although I like to create a relaxed environment, I do offer a more structured approach as well.

I work with individuals and families that want to focus on goals related to their interpersonal relationships, stress, and coping with forms of family trauma. Some specialities include parenting support, dating/romantic relationships, family therapy, and work related stress. I meet with folks of all ages in individual, group, and family therapy settings. I use techniques that are based off of CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing. I also enjoy exploring creative interventions using art or music.
