About Laura-Ann

Hi, I’m Laura-Ann (she/her), a Licensed Master Social Worker. My path into this work was shaped by a long-standing interest in how people think, feel, and relate, along with my own experiences of travel, study, and personal growth. Before joining ACNY, I worked in various settings, including schools and inpatient facilities, focusing on anxiety, depression, panic disorder, personality disorders, and neurodivergence. These experiences inform how I approach therapy, bringing both a clinical lens and a grounded mind.

Education & Training

  • Masters in Social Work, Fordham University

  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Brown University

  • Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Behavioral Technician for ABA Therapy

Working with Laura-Ann

I work with curious and driven individuals who feel overwhelmed behind the scenes. You may have your career, relationships, and responsibilities in place, but still feel anxious, burnt out, or stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, or low mood. Many of my clients are managing anxiety, depression, or panic symptoms that aren’t always visible to others, along with patterns like people-pleasing, perfectionism, or ongoing challenges in relationships.

In our work, I focus on helping you understand where these patterns come from and how to shift them. My approach explores how past experiences shape current behavior, while also staying practical and focused on what will help you feel better day to day. I integrate CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies in a way that feels straightforward and usable.
